Don't ya just hate it?!
There's goin' t'be mentioned some spoilers, so ye' be warned.
yeah, seriously, a whole bunch of bloody spoilers - I'm not kidding. or maybe I am? How the hell should I know?
Well, when I started playing I figured I could avoid being riposted by having a whole bunch of points in attack. Basically, I figured the roll was between my attack and the enemy's defense. Now, the most frequent way i die, on level 1 mind you, is to be riposted to death with some kind of 70-103 dmg hit. Obviously, this makes me question my own strategy - for what are the chances of a monster having that much defense? Obviously, I blame the RNG as well, but the point is that these deaths are far too frequent to only be blamed on the RNG.
Frame of reference: Right now I have 143 DKs and 81 points in attack. Within a few minutes of level one I have 87 attack and I am still being riposted 24/7 (not necessarily dying each time, but they do riposte a lot). So anyway, what am I asking? Pretty simple, yo:
Am I wrong in my assumption? (you know, the one that goes: The chance of being riposted is a roll between your attack and their defense.)
Another thing I think about (I think a lot.. stupid as hell, I know.) is that if the forest creatures' stats are a % of your own stats - my enemies shouldn't have super many points in defense. - However, I know this is not the case with EVERY monster so there.
God of Ale, out.
ps It feels so much better to get it off my chest. Phew.
