Hello,

What file would I look in to remove the paypal button labeled "Author"? And yes, it is legal, go to http://dragonprime.net/index.php?board=15;action=display;threadid=2510 to see.

Yes, it is legal, however many consider it to be in rather poor taste to remove the ability of your players to decide for themselves whether or not they would like to donate to both you and to the people who have spent countless hours of their free time providing you with this source code.

You'll also find that most of us here are not willing to assist you in removing that icon...you'll have to figure it out for yourself.

Sorry to sound so harsh about it, but I'm one of the ones who feels very strongly that removing that option is tacky.

also if you remove that link your server won't be listed on the LoGD Net listing.

Yup... fair is fair... you don't support them with a donation link back, they don't support you with a link.

While it might be legal, that doesn't mean we'll help you do it.

Why would you rather we don't see anything from your players?

since ye spent the time to search for that thread, i am going to assume ye also saw these threads discussing how the community feels about removing the author paypal link.

http://dragonprime.net/index.php?board=14;action=display;threadid=2651

i am not going to list all the references to servers in the 'hall of shame' threads that specifically point to servers that hath removed the author paypal button.

i strongly suggest ye merely add one for 'administrator' in addition to the one for 'author'.

I have both in place and without ANY prompting from me whatsoever I consistently receive enough to cover hosting.

If you want to make a profit from my work and deny the authors anything then you can forget about asking for my help to do it.
