For a bit of a different flavour I want to run a sever that has some bits and pieces that are different.

I know some of you play on servers other than Central and DragonCat - I'm asking you to put forward the things you've seen on other servers and I may include them on Pink. I've asked the DragonPrime community as well (so far, there hasn't been much response though!).

If you've seen some really cool special we don't have on Central, tell me where and I will check it out. Thanks!

oh oh... can I be a Sugarplum Fairy? I say permanent costumes the entire duration of the server!!

And what would I give the donators, if outfits are free? I'll think about it =)

I asked the DragonPrimers about this, and very little was put forward, so the rules have changed a bit. Pink (no date confirmed yet) will be my heavily modified server. It may not be a "fantasy" server anymore. What I am coding for it right now will be a big change, requiring some running around before fighting the dragon. There will be a quest you must complete before getting into the cave, and I don't mean going to fight a monster and it's finished =)

I would like to hope that it works out and that people like it. I'll tell you more when I get more of it done =)

Yah I know about that I'm in the middle of using that race as we speak...and just to tell you it really <SMELLS> to an extent other then you get an extra attack Imp race is very good if your sexy looking like me in game and rl :wink: :roll: but whatever sounds fun though.

Looking forward to it!

For ideas, how about some more different races?
Often I find that a new race can strongly influence the way I play, and give a new feel to the whole game.

I'm not talking heaps of races but perhaps 3-4 different races in addition to the "basic 4".

It has been delayed for a bit now - I unfortunately (or fortunately!) got a job and am trying to sort out some big things with Central, but I hope to have the time to finish the coding for this shortly.

Pink So Far:

I finally accepted I won't have time for more changed content (new code) apart from the massive quest in progress. So that one I will finish, but that's it. So I am currently using the Translation Tool to change a good portion of the text in the game to give it a different feel.

So far I've done things like rename the Weapon and Armour shops, and change JCP's Hunter Lodge into JCP's Living Room.

I've added a couple of specials, including the Villains, which was written by XChrisX, who is the admin of the largest LoGD server, lotgd.de (I understand the idea was Talisman and Elessa's). I'll be hunting down a few more.

The normal base races are gone. In their place are Faerie or Imp (written by Sichae), Felyne (moi) and I'll probably add a couple of others.

The specialties are also gone. In their places are Arcane Runes and Hand Techniques (Sichae), Chicken Mage (blarg) and Ranger (CortalUX/XChrisX).

The quest will include a Tinker, a new Search option in the forest, and there will also be Farms as a new place to visit. Pink will open first as a beta server (not a tourney) because I know there will be bugs in my code and I need help sniffing them out. I'll update you soon.

Sounds like a LOT of fun. I can't wait to try it out! Warning, they use me at work for beta testing every new thing we get. I seem to have an amazing talent for breaking software :)

I had to opt out of this latest Blue Tournament because of time problems, but I will definitely make time to at least beta this one. It sounds delicious.

If you're changing the races up are you going to give us any clues as to what advantages they bring or are we going to just find that out on our own....what a silly question.... :?

Right now there are none - everyone gets made a human. The site has a big whopping issue right now in that the forest, weapon and armour shops, and training, are all blocked. It's caused by a code bug in the core. I am talking to the powers that be on whether they can fix that before the final LoGD release on January 1, but otherwise I know how to fix it the long way.
