Hi,

may I ask you for your support please?

I've tried to upgrade from 0.9.7 to 1.0.3 using the standart installation process, not my best idea... ;-)

then i made a clean installation of 1.0.3 using a clean db -> ok
then i copied the old users (just 15) from the (not working) migrated db to the new, clean accounts table -> mostly ok.
the values are mixed up, but they are able to play.
now a few of them are experiencing a strange behaviour of the game, sometimes they are receiving a blank newday.php
just a white page, if i try to fix the nav of this account the will receive a html link on the blank page which takes them to newday.php which is then blank again.

As I'm pretty new to this game, but already totally fascinated ;-)
the only solution i found so far is to set the location of this user back to the isle of wen.

Am I the only/first one with this problem?
I've stf but found nothing regarding this topic.

Do I have to kill all accounts and tell them to restart?
Or is there a way maybe to migrate the users a propper way, ot to fix this issue?

Please tell me if you need any more information.

Thank you and cheers

Tom

the source of the generated newday.php says:

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">
<HTML><HEAD>
<META http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"></HEAD>
<BODY></BODY></HTML>

thats all...

for me it seems that maybe one of the modules are causing an error during the creation of the newday.php

is there a way to check this?
if i turn on the debuglog for a user i can't see anything in the log.

currently, as i mentioned in my previous post, the only thing i found to solve this is to reset the position back to the isle of wen.

You seem to have more than one problem here. First of all it looks like you did not check DragonPrime first (we actually meant it when we said you would be more likely to find the answer to a problem there). The broken location is a known bug.

http://dragonprime.net/index.php?board=5;action=display;threadid=2697

However, that should not be enough on its own to cause this.

The most likely cause of a broken New Day screen is that you have modules installed and one of them has a problem. Uninstall all the third-party modules, then reinstall them one by one, and you should find your culprit. Good Luck.

Hi,

I've checked dragonprime before, as well as two other forums.
but as I am no native speaker, i used other wordings to look for.
and i was also looking for some reference to the newday.php, unfortunately this was not given, also not in you link.

I'm upgrading the code right now ... thank you veeery much :-D

the modules are already deactivated, and i'm turning them back on step by step :-)

once more.

thank you very much :-)

Cheers

Tom

Ah =)
That known bug does not typically show up at new day. So no, you would not have found it under "new day". But new days breaking is usually modules simply because a huge number of modules hook new day =)

Have you tried unpacking a new copy of news.php and newday.php and uploading them?

Perhaps a non-core module is adding something to news to mess things up.

Ok, what version of your platforms are you using? PHP, Apache, or whatever?

The answer here might be that you need to reinstall. We're somewhat limited in the support we can provide :(
