For those of you donating, I would like to remind you of how Paypal works.
There are fees involved. In other words, a portion of the money you send is taken by Paypal. The fee is related to the amount sent.
If you donate $1, Paypal receives $0.33, and we get $0.67.
If you donate $5, Paypal receives $0.45, and we get $4.55.
Now, if you donate $1 x5, Paypal receives $1.65, and we get $3.35 - meaning we lost $1.20 because you spread out the payments.
We do appreciate your support, but just be aware that more of your donation actually goes to the site when you make fewer larger donations, as opposed to more frequent smaller ones.
This is one of the reasons behind the donation point transfer system - we get more of the donation if you donate in one lump sum and split the points up yourself rather than making several smaller donations in other players' names.
Note that you get lodge credit based on your donation, no matter what Paypal's fees are, so no matter how you split up your donations, that is not a factor.
And if you can only donate a dollar here and there, that's fine. I just want everyone to be aware of the economics of the system.
Thank you for your support.
