I'm running the server for a few weeks now, and only recently realized that you cannot play using Internet Explorer... Me and everyone I know have all been using Mozilla, Netscape, or Firefox.

When using IE, you login and can see the daily news, and than the only options for places to go are "Login Screen", "Previous News", and "About this game". The system also registers that the user is in fact logged in, but they cannot go anywhere or do anything except those 3 options.

Could I have possibly messed something up when I installed the game on my server? It's a Linux server with Apache, MySQL, and PHP, and like I said, the game works perfectly when the client connect using Mozilla, Netscape, or Firefox.

Any suggestions at all?

The problem is either with what you've done, or (more likely) at the user's end...unless nobody can play your game using Explorer. Check client end cookie settings, configure security levels to allow your site through.

Alright, the problem seems to be with any Internet Explorer. I've asked 5 different people, on different machines, with different security levels to log in, and they all have the same problem. I switched my IE to "Custom" and than loaded the "low" security setting, and it still had the problem. Strangly, it would not let me set the "default level" to low, and kept saying that it was not a recommended level.

I than looked through the "game settings" of LoGD, and didn't see anything that referred to cookies or anything like that. Could there be a setting in the conf files I messed up, or forgot to set?

If anyone feels like trying this out to see what I"m talking about, my site is:

Yeah, you're right...has to be something with your host setup, at least, that would be my guess.

You're stopping one tab short of where you need to look. To get into the game, the browser has to be accepting at least session cookies. Those are handled not in the Security section, but in the Privacy section.

In an attempt to slow the spread of viruses and malware a while back, a whole bunch of authorities recommended setting your privacy settings to high. This has the unfortunate side effect of blocking the cookies that the game sets. Bring the privacy slider down to a Medium-High level to allow the game to set its cookies, or click on Edit further down the settings page to allow all cookies from just the site in question.
