Request for SKINS

One of the things I would personally like to see included in the 0.9.8 release is new skins.

The current ones are not "doing it" for the majority of people.

So I'm asking for new ones - better ones. And since "better" is more of a personal preference, there's not much I can elaborate on that.

While there can be no formal guarantees, skins that impress MightyE or Kendaer enough may be included in the next release of the game.

Do any of you have specific things you'd like to see different in a skin? Specific things you dislike about the current ones? Things that are really good about the current ones?

:idea: have the basic skins now but let the player change the color scheme : black and chrome; silver and red

and stuff like that, i like the the layout format of Yabrough, cause it seems easyer to know where everything is, but the color scheme is a little boring, but make it black, red, and chrome and it would look awesome

Redmond is work-like, but something which actually hides the game functions would be even better..... looks like a spreadsheet or something.

i have the opposite problem; i'd use yar2 for the fitting-on-screen-ness that it does so well, but the text is too small for me, so i still use yar1.

Yes small and compact I like, I use yar2. I use an A/S 400 emulator at work so it blends in well with that, but I would like the header off (thats says in big words Legend of green dragon). Perhaps some work camouflage ones without all the big words, but still with the black screen and one that is spread sheet like.

I like Yar2 for the way it's laid out, but can't use it because the font is too small. (I've mentioned this before.) It sucks if you're vision impaired.

What I'd like is a skin for the vision impaired! (SLIGHTLY larger fonts.)

This was submitted by one of the Dragonprime folks, and I seriously like it.. I'm considering making it the 0.9.8 default.

I think I would prefer Yarbrough, but with the info on the right like in Yar2.
Or maybe Yar2 with Yar1's font sizes.
But at work I already use the one that has the white background (I forget the name), and its not bad...maybe if the header said CNN or something. ;)

change the dark green to pitch black, the " Honor Ave, Merc ect. " in silver; "the forest, Blusprings, ect." in blood red

Just because the DRAGON is GREEN, that doesn't necessarily mean that everything else has to be. Not that I don't like jade, but it might be nice to see a version with different colors.

Redmond, by the way, would be awesome if it showed your personal info on the right. I never maximise my browser so it takes a lot of scrolling to get there as is. With that one change, it just might surpass Cupterino as my favorite :)

I'd love to see a skin with a serif font, too.

Unfortunately there isn't a quick how-to.

The html file is broken into various template sections which are recombined back together at display time. It should be fairly obvious what those sections are (they are commented/labled in the existing html files). Some of the sections have {word} replacement tokens. Those will get replaced with the correct bit at display time. Again, look at the existing examples.

Unfortunately no. Themes are HTML.. if HTML is gibberish to you then there's not much that can really be done to help.

Make sure your browser is saving your cookies for lotgd.net persistantly. If you have them being deleted when you close your browser this would happen since your template choice is stored as part of your cookie info.

actualy i like pink, i usualy when i have to where a tie to school ( usualy its a mass day thay make us where ties) ill where my black shirt and my pink tie or my Jerry Garcia tie

I use the blarg skin and find it more suitable for than any of the others except perhaps Redmond – but the colours can still give it away. A dull, completely colourless one would be ideal..
