The Austin American Statesman (Austin, Texas) ran an article on street names today (June 5, 2004). This picture was included, of a car racing on a race track in Hyde Park.

In addition to horse races and bicycle races, early automobile races were held at the Hyde Park racetrack. An unidentified driver poses in The Green Dragon.
The year is not noted, but I would guess this is in the 1920s or 30s. The racetrack is long gone, and houses were built on that site in the 40s.
