Considering the nature of the game we all know and love, it comes as no surprise that at least a few of us would have a Wheel of Time streak. I'm most certainly one of those type.

Having read all the books several times and discussed them in depth with many of my friends who have done the same, I'm always looking for a fresh outlook on things; plot speculation, analysis of mysterious happenings and uncertain situations, character discussion, anything of the like. Basically, any thoughts at all that you may have on the subject, from whether Cyndane is in fact Lanfear back from the land of the Aelfinn to why Rand and no one else had sickness from channeling.

I love the series, and cannot wait for book 11. Just wondered who else did too.

So, I hit the submit button, and realized just then that I should give a heads up to readers who haven't progressed too far into the series.

Chances are good that some if not most of the posts that will happen here will discuss plot elements, big or small, which may effect the reading enjoyment of the series for those who have not already read most of it.

If you are that type, be forewarned.... stay away, or enter at your own risk. I for one intend to discuss sensitive matters through book 10, so if you don't like it, don't read any more. Anyway, enjoy your day, and happy reading.

Button is filtered to gibberish? Or is that a mistake. I'm 99.775% certain I typed "button" there. And I know I proofread it. Oh, well. Happy hunting.

Although I've only read two of the books myself, I do enjoy them. I'm hoping to read the others however it may be a while before I have a chance to again....:(

I picked up Crossroads over the holidays here and I'm hoping to see some progression to some part of the story line... book 9 was a good shift after the real slow crawl that was books 7 & 8 (book 7 in particular if memory serves me correctly) and I'm hoping to see more of the same, if not some plot resolution in this book...

Anyway, I continue to wait for more to come out but I'm not hoping for much out of the end of this series as it already has been drawn out with too much filler after the several excellent books which started the series...

The best thing that he could do now would be to start really drawing together the disparate plotlines in one book and then finish the series in another - the speed and clarity of the series has declined from it's fine beginnings (not to say that his books aren't still some of the best fantasy being written.)

That's exactly it, Sneak. The series had a really strong start, and the building suspense of separate plot lines without clear connections worked well for books 2 through 8 or 9, but now even book 10 leaves almost every question unanswered and each plot element unresolved.

For example, I really enjoy the suspense of the scheming between the Forsaken, but no clear trends are emerging. I mean, we know which of the forsaken are left, and who's been reincarnated (mostly, if you believe Cyndane is actually Lanfear, or some reflection of Lanfear, back from the land of the Aelfinn, Moridin is Ishamael, Osan'gar and Aran'gar are Aginor and Belthamel, although Aginor is dead again. However, only balefire can keep a member of the Forsaken dead ), but the lines are only clear in reference to Moghedien and Moridin's relationship, and that Cyndane assumes superiority among the group, even if the rest may not feel that she is justified. Also, who killed Asmodean? Too many doors are still open.

The 11th and 12th books are going to have to be at least 700 pages a piece to resolve all the issues at hand. Being that Robert Jordan only signed a 12 book contract with his publisher, this is the only option.

The good thing about this is that the last two books will be as fast paced and exciting as the first few were. Being that most of the Forsaken have yet to die, the Bore is almost wide open, [i]saidin is clean and this is not necessarily permanent, most of the people have yet to unify under Rand and the Shaido are raping the countryside in the south, the White tower is still broken and Egwene is a prisoner, the Black Tower is riven internally, and there is a random incarnation that is a combination of Isam and Luc who has no purpose as yet, there is a lot of work left to be finished. Personally, I look forward to it.

I didn't know about the 12 book contract - eases my mind that we won't be talking politics into book 20 (as I had feared).

Darn you Airyndun for spoiling my surprise in book 10. I'm just kidding. I'm really looking forward to getting to those parts. Are you going to get the prequel to the WoT when it comes out (Jan. 6) ? It's called "New Spring:the Novel" and the thing is it is just the beginning of that new series (I think). As soon as it comes out in paperback i will get it.
