I don't really have stupid people as a pet peeve, just ignorant people who see no need to change...

Also Deus Ex 2 (they nerfed DE1), never getting replies and being 1 experience point away from challenging Yoresh... :(

Same here with the ignorant people who don't want to change.
"Ignorance is temporary, stupidity is forever." -Anonymous?
Would that make my peeve about people who are stupid about their ignorance? I don't know.

Oh yes, also the American version of Whose Line is it Anyway? They pander to the audience so much, ABC has censored it, and Drew Carey can neither host nor act for BEANS!

second pet peeve: "Reality" shows. Those shows sooo do not portray reality.

People who see, and even physically hear a word over and over, and still mispronounce it.
Being interrupted.
Repeating myself.
Other people repeating themselves to me.
Screaming, yelling, and shrieking, especially when it's a completely useless gesture, like yelling at a television.
People who insist on insulting somone and hiding behind 'guest' names.

Kether, don't let him get to you. It's a standard troll tactic and best left ignored.

Nah, he's not getting to me, if he were, I'd really have gone off. It just fit with the flow of the post so well. ;>

*hides children*

Oh, wait, you meant uncontrolled kids. :)

*beams at her children, who are all sitting quietly*

*tries not to think of the bloody nose that one got last night when they were being rowdy*

Hear, Hear. I hate SPAM and the way my computer filters it out. This darn computer fills my inbox with spam and filters out the e-mails i want.

Gum cracking is a big one for me.
But I think the worst is having to listen to the rest of the world's cell phone conversations.

People who talk behind other people's back because they are too cowardly to say to their face!

pet peeves, hmmm, let me think, ok I have it!

People who stab other people in the back, then pretend like it never happened and want to be all buddy-buddy with them again.

People who try to judge me based on appearance instead of who I am inside (can you say shallow?)

People who talk big, but dont have what it takes to back it up.

Country music

My pet peeve? References to 'Laurence' Fishburne. I'm looking at a copy of Boyz N The Hood right this minute and it says Larry Fishburne. He'll always be Larry to me.

I get annoyed when CNN.com only caries a story as a video feed.

Give me a text version. I don't want to watch your stupid video.

I normally keep the sound off or low, since I'm either supposed to be working or watching tv when I'm home, so videos are an inconvenience.

Hmm...Pet peeves...

-People that get mad when you misunderstand what they say.
-Ex. They say fry, but you accidently hear fly and get confused and they get mad.
-When people complain about something, but just keep doing it. (School is an exception..We have to keep doing it.)
-When people kill you 5 times in one night!! (Suicide is your only friend. Wait, that's wrong..)

I might be a bit hypocritical with one or two of those things, but...They bug me.

I have a few ;)
but two big and rather practical ones are

litter bugs
and
people that do not pull over for ambulances, firetrucks or the police (and then try to go around me because i am pulled over)

argh- these may go back to an ignorant people peeve ;)

Professors who assign a ton of homework every night and seem to forget that we have other classes and activities that are just as important.

People who tell me that I look like I'm 12 and refuse to believe that I'm not...

"Friends" who say they'll always stand by you, then run off and talk exclusively to an incredibly jerky guy without even telling you and then expect you to sit there waiting for them like nothing happened when things go bad, although you repeatedly told them that this would happen...

People who laugh hysterically when you tell them about a problem or goal that you consider to be serious.

Teachers who can't control their anger and have fits at their innocent students.

People who call other people stupid or ugly or fat, like Violet on LOTGD does.

Perents who let their kids break everything, regardless of the owner, and never say a word of reprimand.

Hundreds of daily Spam messages for gross things that don't apply to me.

People who go on and on about their insignificant problems and say, "You don't know how it feels," when you actually have a pretty good idea.

People who watch shows like 700 Club and refuse to believe that any of it could possibly be the least bit wrong.

Until recently, my biggest pet peeve was companies who do cold-call selling at 6pm at night when you're trying to cook dinner and get the kids in the bath.

Now I just hand the phone to my 2yo son who LOVES to talk (well babble with an occassional word of English) on the phone. Within in 2 mins he hands it back and the person has hung up.

I don't hear from them again and he gets to "practise" his phone technics. Works out perfectly.

I've gotta go back to the original statements in this thread - stupid people. Almost every other pet peeve listed here can be traced back to human stupidity.

Calandra, you're my hero!

Pure genius :D

I have the same pet peeve, 'though I'm lacking the 2 year old to solve it. I do, however, have an incredibly verbose parrot ... hmmm ....
