Has anyone here played p&p rpgs?

Just out of curiosity... Has anyone of you ever played pen-and-paper roleplaying games? I have, and I've found it a great way to spend time with friends.

However, my experiences are mostly limited to D&D (both 3 and 3.5 editions) and RuneQuest. So, I'd also like you to recommend me something new to try with my friends in addition to those two games I already mentioned.

I be a Dungeon Master at me school - started off with 2nd and now I play an intricate web of me own house rules. p&p rules, but it's hard to find groups...

It gets even tougher to find groups and time when you're out of school and have a job and family.

The White Wolf Storyteller games (i.e. Vampire: the Masquerade, etc.) have a nice system.

Since you're familiar with dnd 3, you could try a d20 game.

My favorite RPG is Tunnels & Trolls. It is a very flexible game and rule lawyers have a harder time exploiting the system. It is very easy to convert from other systems. Plus there is a small internet community that is always happy to answer questions and share their own style.

Finally for a great way to play even when you do not have anyone within town to play with go to http://www.playbyweb.com. It is set up as customized webpages just for RPGs. There are several different rule systems (and even systemless) games anyone can join.

All i know is that Runescape (www.runescape.com) is a pretty awesome game... A bit repetetive if you want to be really good, but what game isnt?

Thank you... Just to let you know, I've played a little (a little meaning 1 or 2 sessions) of Vampire the Masquerade, Exalted, Call of Chtulhu (not the d20 version), and Wheel of Time, too. I've really liked Exalted and Wheel of Time, but our GM has been too busy to arrange more games in spite of my continuous pleas.

As for my gaming history, I've been rpging actively for 3 years now. I also have my own group of D&D 3rd ed. players who I've been DMing for a year now. Again, thank you for the tips, perhaps after the girls get tired with playing D&D we'll try something you've mentioned here...

I have heard Runescape is very fun. Ken St. Andre (writer of T&T and Stormbringer) spends way too much time playing that game.

Lemme see I started off with Gamma World and it's ilk some 20 years ago! Playing In Nomine at the moment and Principalia Malifax. Oh and the odd bit of vampire. Also do live rpg.
